KALASAN PAR05

The Kalasan is a sword from the Batak people with a straight back and a slightly "S" shaped edge and a sharp point made by the edge which runs to the back. 

The buffalo hilt may have various forms either plain or a mouth shape. This one is of the Sukul Tanke Jambe type, it is round and broadens while it curves slightly towards its top. 

The wooden sheath has a widening mouth towards the edge side. The two halves are held together by rattan strips.
