This dagger could be
classified as a Pedang Suduk, although its blade does have
a
lot in common with a a
Keris, except there is no ganja. It is sometimes called a Lombok
executioner's Keris. In "Keris di Lombok" by H. Lalu
Djelenga (page 334), it is described as Cundrik or Sundrik.
Although the term Cundrik is used for various type of blades, we
refer to this name for a blade that has a shape with the first part
straight, single edged, and the second part slightly curved double
edged.
Similar blades are mounted as a
Keris with a ganja. G.C. Wooley describes in
"Journal Malayan Branch Vol. XX, Part II", a keris from the
Pitt-Rivers museum, with a very similar blade: it has the same length,
two holes at the top, a thick center rib with 2 deep grooves. This blade
is fitted with an unusual ganja.
