Toraja, Sulawesi, overall 67 cm, blade 45 cm, hilt 12 cm -0893E100-

The Penai is a Klewang from the Baree speaking Toraja. Its buffalo horn hilt is engraved with geometrical designs. Straight blade slightly widening to the point with a blunt back and a sharp edge. Wooden scabbard decorated with carvings, made in two halves tight with 4 rattan straps, its mouth broadens with a horn ring, four holes allow to run a belt through. The scabbard Buntut (shoe) is missing.
